Time flys!

by shirleyhassall 1/31/2010 9:33:00 AM

Hi everyone! Laughing

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. I also hope that the start to 2010 has been non-troublesome. I say non-troublesome because lots have happened so far this year; extreme weather conditions for one. Haiti mostly. Our prayers go out to those whose lives are being rebuilt as you read this and to those who are helping the people of Haiti to rebuild their lives. We also give thanks for those who have not given up and have found more survivors. Although there are not many now, those who have been found have been blessed indeed.

I know that it is a bit late for the Autumn/Christmas edition of Nornews, it has been aded to the website under Church Magazine. It is hoped that the new Winter/Spring edition will be added sometime before the end of February.

May God bless you as you read this blog and search through the site and throughout the coming weeks.

Shirley

community centre

by shirleyhassall 2/17/2009 4:15:00 AM

Well, finally I think we have seen the last of the snow! Several of the groups who use the community centre had to cancel due to poor weather. However, I belive that we are to have warmer weather for a spell making the community centre buzz again!

I have made a page that lists the various groups who use the Community Centre. If you require times and additional information in regards to the groups please send the secretary (me) an e-mail.

Let's look forward to spring time as the snowdrops are now appearing and the daffadils are starting to make buds. What a glorious time is spring!! Can't wait!! Laughing

Take care and God bless,

Shirley

How to send a photo to the site

by shirleyhassall 2/3/2009 10:10:00 AM

I noticed that you cannot send a photo via the comments page. However, you still can send a photo by doing the following:

On the right hand side where the picture of the church is, there is a 'e-mail me' tag.

Click onto this tag and send me a note with which page the picture goes to ( ie: Young people's page or Childrens page) along with your uploaded picture and I will add it to that page. Smile

Looking forward to your photos!!

Take care,

Shirley

Hello February!!

by shirleyhassall 2/2/2009 10:39:00 AM

Well, February has kicked off with a (snow) storm! As I have said before, I love the snow! Smile

I just hope that those of you who need to go out the next few days, take it easy and slow. Leave home early enough etc...

The children and young people in the neighbourhood are having fun with snowball fights and snowman making. If you have any intresting photos of the snow, send them in.

For now, take care and God bless!

Welcome to October....

by shirleyhassall 10/1/2008 6:33:00 AM

Hello and welcome to October! The leaves are changing colour and the wind is picking up speed!

Harvest Festival signs are everywhere!

And speaking of Harvest, Norton celebrated it's Harvest this past weekend. Fan the Flames Ministries, who usually worship in our church after our morning service, and Central Methodist Church joined with us to celebrate God's abundant harvest and love.

Third Letchworth Rainbow's also joined with us and presented the church with a lovely banner that celebrates Norton serving God for 100 years.

We had a wonderful time at both services and enjoyed worship with our guest preacher and friend Patrick Hughes and his wife Sue.

The harvest gifts donated in the morning were distributed among those who are in need in the community and the remaining gifts where actioned off in the evening after the service and monies raised went to 'Friends of Udobo' (Udobo is a school in South Africa. I will be in the future creating a page about Udobo).

The weekend was a brillant one and I know God has more planned for each of us and hear at Norton!

Take care and God bless,

shirley

New pages etc...

by shirleyhassall 9/23/2008 11:19:00 AM

Hi!  Smile

I have not been away, I just have added things on the site and not wrote about it.

As you can tell from the welcome page, if you checked it out today, anytime our church has an event or special service it will be placed before the ministers welcome on the welcome page. I felt that this way everyone could see right away what was happening soon within the church. It will still be listed in the events and services page as well.

In the next month or so I will be adding a children's and young peoples page. Content will be discussed with our churches children and young people to get an idea what they would like on theses pages.

If you have any ideas on what could be added to these pages or even an idea for a page, just send me a comment.

Take care and watch the pages for new stuff! Cool

Colour!!

by shirleyhassall 7/22/2008 4:06:00 AM

As you can see, I have found a way to change some of the font colours. Which really makes a difference I think to the look.

I can have each page category be a different colour or have them all be the same.

What do you think?

Please feel free to post any comments to me about the site. For example; what you would like to see on the site or maybe start a discussion about Christianity, faith and prayer.

You can e-mail me via the link on the welcome page or scroll down after reading this message to 'add comment' and write a comment about this post and send it to me. It's that simple! Laughing

Looking forward hear from you.

Take care,

shirley
